How and where should the goods be stored? How will the goods be delivered to the right place at the right time? This and many other tricky issues are encountered by wholesale and foreign trade clerks on a daily basis. If strategical thinking and planning is your forte, then this is the job for you.

Duration of apprenticeship: 3 years

Analysing, negotiating and advising – you’ll learn all this at EWM:

• Purchasing: Choosing suppliers based on specific conditions
• Analysing market studies and developing marketing strategies
• Producing briefs, reports, logs and inventories
• Handling correspondence with suppliers and customers, sometimes in a foreign language
• Service-oriented approach to customers and customer loyalty
• Empathetic advising to customers, supporting their purchasing decisions
• Success-oriented calculation of earnings
• Planning marketing strategies

 

What you need to bring:

• Good secondary education qualifications, general or specialised school-leaving qualification (‘Abitur’)
• Good grades in German
• Good knowledge of English; other foreign languages would be advantageous
• Knowledge of standard Office software
• Good numerical reasoning
